Ever play Craft Roulette? It’s a show that is over on YouTube every Friday night, where the parameters for a card are determined by a wheel. I’ve been on the show twice (you can find it here or here) but this is the first time I played along live since my friend, Shanna, was on the show this past Friday. The four parameters were 1) Coral and cool colors 2) pocket 3) 4×6 card 4) pocket. It was pretty fun playing live without having the pressure of being on camera and I was done creating shortly after they were done too. I love how it came out and find it so cute … I definitely wouldn’t have created this card without the parameters so if you’re every stumped — check out the show and play along on Fridays!

Emboss resist? It’s one of my favorite techniques because you don’t really have to be good at blending or coloring — you just lay down a bunch of different colors, wait for it to dry, then stamp your solid images on top and set it with a heat gun. Then you pick your color you want as your background — here, I used purple and black for something a little different and I love how this turned out.

Floaties are the best part of going into summer — I think. I love them but I rarely get that chance to hit the beach because in San Francisco, our beaches are cold. But when I get a chance to go into warm water, you best believe that I take a floatie with me to lounge and float away. I can’t believe it took me so long for me to pull out this set. I added a little something to the card — check out in the below.

The project I’m sharing today is a flat shaker card — these are super fun to make. The Trinity Stamps Shimmer Sea Hot Foil is finally back in stock, and I had to use it for this collab. I went ahead and hot foiled an entire panel of teal green cardstock using Disco Ball foil, but I did trim it down just a bit because I wanted a sky peeking out. To create the sky, I used Blueprint Sketch and Spun Sugar.
I stamped images from Friend Ship, You Go Gull, and Otter Side. They work perfectly together for my little water scene! I colored them up quickly using copic markers.
I used my Xyron sticker maker for the rest of my images, turning them into stickers and decorated the outside of my shaker to finish off this card. I’m so happy to shake, shake, shake this card! I hope you enjoyed this card featuring both Trinity Stamps and Heffy Doodle. Remember to leave a comment for a chance to win our collab giveaway!

Ink blending the look of light is actually really easy. Check it out in the short video below. All you need is a bright color and then ink blend all around it. Nighttime skies also are really easy to create as long as you add that splatter at the end. It really brings it all together.

I’m in love with this new Atelier Ink color in Pitch Black — it’s so freaking dark and I love it. I used it to ink blend over this embossed stencil I created. Plus I went back to the old favorite, Fadeout Ink for no line coloring.

Shaker cards are super fun because they make noise and they are just fun to play with. I created a subtle one because you can’t really see the pieces but you can definitely hear it!

When’s the last time you sent a postcard? This stamp set by The Sassy Club had all the elements for me to create one. Also, it’s less to color up! I split my card panel in half and create a mini scene on the side. Since these aren’t real postcards, I will be mounting it on a card base and took some liberties of a “faux postcard”

I love mixing and matching sets because it just gives you more bang for your buck. I thought these just worked so well together to frame the lovely couple. I share how to put it together in this video below.
I’m generally not a huge fan of dimension with die cuts or even lots of layers, but I’m starting to understand why it’s so fun to add. I used this Lovely Layers: Magnolia to be the centerpiece of my card and it’s such a showstopper.
I used a lot of different elements and love how I pulled all these elements came together and I’m so happy with it!

Anyone remember the Swedish Chef from the Muppets? Funny enough, I don’t remember him but I remember his chicken. I thought I’d create a small scene and used ink blending to fill up the space so I didn’t have to create a full kitchen. Here’s how I did it:

I don’t love every single card I make but that’s ok! Trying new things is always fun. I liked the coloring I did but I didn’t end up loving the final look because the dino placement wasn’t my favorite.
