Ever do no line coloring? It used to be so intimidating but I kept at it and now I love it. It gives your images a soft look. I also combined it with stamping with a bit of ink blending on kraft cardstock for this fun coffee card!

When I saw these hearts, I kinda thought about how I used to draw hearts in a border with a single line. Right side up, upside down, right side up — repeat. I took a page out of my grade school doodles and created a background design out of these crafty hearts and colored them up in rainbow colors.

I’m still pretty new to watercolors but play around with them has been interesting — trying to figure out how much water to use, how heavy handed I should be, how long I need to wait for it to dry… but I wanted to try adding salt to watercolors to see the aftereffect and I think it looks so cool, especially for a sky! You just add it on when it’s just still a bit wet and wait for it to dry. Waiting is the hardest part!

Hot foils are such an interesting crafty technique because it’s so razzle dazzle and glimmery, especially when you do a reverse hot foil because you use the remaining hot foil pieces. I thought to tone down this reverse hot foil frame, I chose a few die cut pieces to pair it with. I thought it worked really well and I was so happy with the outcome.

Some cards just need a lot of steps. This is one of them but trust me, it really comes together quite easily. My hardest choice here was just the color choices for the palette. I definitely love how this turned out and it’s perfect for Thanksgiving and the fall.

Watercolor Galaxy | MFT Stamps

I’m starting to get a big more comfortable with watercolors and I attempted to create a galaxy with them! A little bit of trial and error but the best part is that galaxy backgrounds are look such a mess but when you add splatter, it pulls it all together! I also decided to use a mix of mediums so I used copic markers for the images!

Note: I created this card to enter into MFT’s Card Design Superstar challenge and didn’t realize that this set is no longer available at My Favorite Things Stamp but I found a couple places that carries it.

When I first saw the North Pole Greetings Stamp set, I immediately thought of a postcard. I also thought about the fun patterns that you can color up the letters with. I’m terrible at that, so I rummaged around and pulled out a pack of holiday patterned paper and it was perfect — plus even better, I had scraps which I used for the main sentiment!
