Hi friends, today, I’m sharing a card I created using the Sneak Peek Club kit No. 7 from Waffle Flower Crafts. The Sneak Peek Club kit is a monthly subscription that allows you to play with a handful of Waffle Flower products about a month before their official release date.

For today’s card, I used each item in the kit to create this fun birthday card. The best part of this kit was that Waffle Flower included their 4.25 x 5.5 grip mat, which is such a game changer for stenciling!

Adding Texture | Honey Bee Stamps

A simple trick to elevating your card is to use an embossing folder to add texture to your background. I didn’t want it to overtake the card since my focal image leaves a bit of blank space so I used additional color blocking to fill up the card in a subtle way.

Watercoloring and an Inky Background | Pretty Pink Posh

Watercoloring is a quick way to color up your images especially when using watercolor markers to do it. You scribble a bit of color, and pull out the color with a wet brush. This technique worked perfectly for a summery card.

The new blue glossy cardstock from Trinity Stamps is so perfect for hot foiling. I also wanted to mix hot foiling with the old school stamping, which I did on cardstock. The glittery embellishments really finished off the card.

I needed a really simple card and watermark ink is one of those sneaky inks that can be used for multiple things. I could have embossed but I wanted a super subtle pattern and when you ink blend distress oxides over it, it still peeks through — isn’t that cool!?
