Mr. Snailman | Trinity Stamps

Hi everyone! It’s 2020 and this year, I’m making a new years resolution to send more happy mail out. I have a huge collection of cards and would love to not hoard them. So to kick off this resolution, I pulled out the Mr. Snailman stamp set to share create a fun & simple card.

I stamped out my images using Ink on 3’s Fadeout ink because I wanted to do some no line coloring. Once I colored up all my images using copic markers, they were ready for a card.

For the top and bottom of my card, I blended distress inks using the Blending Buddies to create the sky and ground. I then heat embossed the sentiment in white on black cardstock. To finish off the card, I added a few Cinnamon Red Hots – Jelly Drop Hearts embellishments around the sentiment. I also decided to stamp the “Hooray for” sentiment right on top and it really completed the card. One additional touch I added was that I trimmed my card panel to 4″ x 5.25 and lined my card base with some striped washi. It just matched perfectly!

I just adore how this card turned out and it’s such a simple card to send out! Also, you can of course, stamp using black ink but I’ve just been practicing my no line coloring.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you get inspired to create. Come back again soon for more inspiration and ideas! Happy Crafting!

Cheers to 2020!

Happy New Year! Can you believe it’s a start of a new decade!? Time has flown by so quickly! One of my new years resolutions is to create more for myself. I have design teams and deadlines but I realized that I need to create for myself and that’s exactly what I’m going to do. Do you have any crafty resolutions for the new year?

Today, I wanted to create a card using I’m sharing a card featuring these critters I colored up for fun. I always revert back to Mama Elephant’s Party Animal stamp set at the beginning of the year since it’s so perfect to kick off the new year.

I stamped out these images using Ink on 3’s Fadeout Ink, which is perfect for no line coloring. I used a combination of Copic markers (colors listed below) to color everything.

I definitely knew I wanted to use Trinity Stamps’ Layered Fireworks stencils for the background but was worried it’d be too busy. I went for it anyway and stepped a bit out of my comfort zone. I gathered a ton of different embossing powders to help create this firework lit sky. Using Juicy Ink, I pressed on the stencil to get the ink on my cardstock and then used all the different embossing powders to fill up the sky.

I used My Favorite Things Stamps – Snow Drifts to cut out some masking paper so I could use distress inks for the sky and the grass. The embossing powder resists all the ink so once I was finished with the sky, I just wiped it down with a dry paper towel and all the colors were perfect for fireworks.

I went ahead and added all the colored critters to the card panel and added the Cheers sentiment from My Favorite Things Stamps. This finished off my card and I love how it turned out. It looks a bit busy but you know what, the more fireworks, the better.

Thanks for stopping by! Come back soon!

Gerda Steiner Designs & WOW! Embossing Powder Collab

Hi everyone! Welcome to the Gerda Steiner Designs & WOW! Embossing Powder Collab Blog Hop! I’m so excited to be able to play with a bunch of embossing powders with one of my favorite stamp companies!

There’s tons of inspiration along this blog hop, so be sure to hop along and leave a comment. If you do, you’ll have a chance to win a WOW! Embossing Powder $25 Gift Card and Gerda Steiner Designs $25 Gift Card. Winners will be announced on Monday, November 25th!

Today I’m sharing two cards for the blog hop. It was super fun to create using a couple stamp sets together in collaboration with embossing powder. I will say that that most magical tool that I have in my crafty arsenal is my heat gun. I just love using it to set embossing powder and watching it melt!

For my first card, I did exactly that for the background. Persian indigo has this dark blue background with purple/pink glitters and it’s so pretty for a nighttime scene.

I used embossing ink to ink up an entire card panel and covered it in Persian Indigo. I did trim this A2 card panel down half an inch on both sides so I could mat it on another card panel, where I covered it with another embossing powder, Midas Touch.

I used one of the newest snowman stamps from Gerda Steiner Designs’ collection, Little Snowman. He’s a smaller 2×3 stamp but oh-so-adorable and the perfect focal stamp for this gorgeous background. The stamp already comes with a little snow banks he sits in, so I added a few larger snow banks behind him. I trimmed it out and added it right on top of that Persian Indigo background. It turned out to be such a cute and simple card.

For my next card, I wanted to do a non-Christmas set and used a combination of two stamp sets: Deeply and A Whale of a Time. For this card, I used the Pacific Wave embossing powder in conjunction with a wave stencil to create the background for the ocean.

I stamped out a bunch of the sea creatures, colored them, fussy cut them, and added them to the card. I masked off the top portion to show the sky and also gave myself an area to add the sentiment.

Using Opaque Bright White embossing powder for the sentiment really made it pop on top. I adore how this card turned out and love the details added by the embossing powders.

Thanks for stopping by and remember to visit the next stop and leave a comment for a chance to win!

Trinity Stamps Winter Release Blog Hop

Hi everyone! Welcome to Trinity Stamps‘ Winter Release Blog Hop! This is a super awesome release and I’m pretty excited about it so I hope you are too! For our blog hop, please comment on each stop (full list below) and one lucky person will be selected for a $25 gift card to Trinity Stamps. You must comment by 11/7 at 11:59 PM PT on each of the blogs along the hop. Winner will be announced on the Trinity Blog the following Friday on November 8th.

Honestly, I had a lot of trouble figuring out which set I wanted to feature into today’s hop but I decided to go with the stamp set, Winter Friends. This is a super adorable set that also coordinates with a small stamp set, Have an Ice Day, which I didn’t use today but will feature later on.

When I first saw this set, I immediately thought of high fives, even though you can also stack! There’s just so many ideas but I went ahead with my first idea.

For the moose and the reindeer, I wanted them to face each other to high five, so I created the reverse image of the reindeer. I will use a stamp positioner to help me do this and the stamp set packaging. I went ahead and stamped the image onto the piece of packaging using my stamp positioner. Once the image was on there, I flipped it around and pressed it on my cardstock. This left a light image of the reindeer on my cardstock, where I went in with a copic friendly marker to outline the image so it was darker.

These two are absolutely adorable… so much so that I wanted to add the two other critter images from the set. For these two, I could have had them high fiving as well, but I decided that I wanted them jumping up! To create that look, I added their shadows slightly below them instead of directly under them.

For the background, I used a combination of heat embossing the small snowflakes all over with white embossing powder and I also stamped them using a silver metallic ink. I went ahead and masked all the images to add the background and also the snow with distress inks along with the Blending Buddy brushes. Those brushes really help put on the color and make blending a lot easier. Have you tried them out yet?

I just adore how this came together and I hope you’re just as excited about this new release as I am! Remember to go by and comment on each of the stops along this blog hop! Enjoy the inspiration!

Hi everyone! As part of the LDRS Creative Day 2 blog hop, today is featuring a fall card. I went with a super simple card focusing the card around one die cut and some hybrid inks.

For today’s card, I’m using LDRS Creative’s die set named, Garden Gateway die set. This is a simple die set but can be used in so many ways. It’s actually two pieces where you can use the die cut into a piece of paper (which is what I’m doing on black cardstock) or you can cut it along with it’s frame so it can be layered on top of another panel.

Since this card is focused around the die set, I pulled out some ink colors that together, reminded me of fall: Dan-D-Lion, In Your Face Orange, and Lipstick Jungle. I blended them out on an entire A2 card panel so it will show through the Garden Gateway die cut as well as the side of the card panel.

Since this die cut didn’t have a corresponding sentiment, I pulled out an older fall set, Happy Fall, to coordinate with this card. I used Dan-D-Lion to color up a piece white cardstock and stamped the sentiment from Happy Fall on it. I also took the Lipstick Jungle onto another piece of white cardstock and used this to mat the sentiment.

That’s it for today’s card. Sometimes, you don’t need to do any coloring and can focus a card around a simple die.

Hi everyone! Today, I’m sharing a card I created using Inkon3’s newest stamp set named, Oh Deer. It’s a very versatile stamp set, but it is tailored for the holidays. I definitely wanted to showcase this in a holiday setting.

This set features a large deer as the main image, which is the center of my card today. I also added the string of lights add on to the top of is antlers. I stamped both these items using Blackout ink.

Coloring this image was actually so much fun! I used a mix of distress inks and alcohol markers. The deer and the actual lightbulbs are colored by alcohol inks. I used distress inks to halo the string of lights and to add the color the rest of the background.

For the sentiment, I stamped it on a piece of white cardstock and decided to tie in the browns that I colored the deer with, creating a woodgrain effect. I matted both on red cardstock that matched the florals on top of the deer’s head.

I love how this card turned out and it makes for such a simple Christmas card. An additional bonus is that it’s so, so fun to color. Hope you enjoy this and it inspires you to start creating holiday cards.

Hi everyone! As part of the LDRS Creative blog hop, today is featuring a new to me technique. I’ve seen this idea floating around instagram and I’ve have always loved it as an instagram filter as well: the bokeh effect. It’s actually a really easy one to create and I fell quickly in love with it.

For today’s card, I’m sharing a card I created using LDRS Creative’s stamp set named, Stinkin’ Amazing. This is an adorable set that was perfect because I wanted a focal image, the main skunk.

I used some sparkle pens along with water to create a messy background. Here is where the technique comes in. All you need is blending tool with a foam pad and a white pigment ink. I chose to use Snowy White pigment ink because it’s so white. I used a large piece of paper and die cut some circles of different sizes. I used it as a stencil with the Snowy White ink to add white circles all over the background. This was so easy to create and it worked great for a background.

I stamped out a few florals, leaves and the main skunk from the Stinkin’ Amazing, using Raven ink, and colored them up with alcohol inks. I stamped out a sentiment from the set, that worked to ground the main skunk image.

I love how this card turned out and the technique to create the bokeh effect was so easy. I hope you get a chance to try it out as well!

Big Bold Magnolias – No Line Coloring

Hi everyone! It’s Jeannie (InsideoutJeans) on the blog today with Inkon3’s new release with the amazing stamp set named, Big Bold Magnolias along with the coordinating dies. If you didn’t hop along with us during our blog hop, you definitely should check it out because there have been some fabulous projects using this set!

I previously had created two other cards using this set, but I just had to pull it out again to create another one. This time, I decided to take on some no-line coloring. Inkon3 has the fabulous Fadeout ink for no-line coloring. To start, I went ahead and stamped out all the images from the set, except for the largest magnolia. The last two projects, I had focused on the largest one so this time, I wanted to pay attention to the rest of the images from the set.

Once I had stamped them out, I went in with some purple copic markers. For me, it’s easiest to lay down the darkest color first so I know where all the shadows lay. I’ll then work out to my lightest color.

I tend to fussy cut a lot but for no-line coloring images, I prefer using the coordinating dies. It leaves that really nice white border so it really makes the images pop.

For the background, I just did a few washes of purple watercolor. Nothing very fancy at all. I did keep the watercolor at the bottom left of the card where I have the flowers laid out. Before glueing my flowers down, I added some gold splatter.

I wanted to tie in my gold splatter, so I decided to use the Juicy ink to cover a piece of white cardstock and added Gold Rush embossing powder. By doing this, I could use the standalone “Beautiful” sentiment from Heels to you die set. For the coordinating sentiment, I stamped the “You’re” with Juicy ink and heat embossed with the Gold Rush embossing powder so everything matched up.

I hope you enjoyed this card I shared today and make sure to pick up your set too! This is so gorgeous and so fun to color!

Hi everyone! It’s Jeannie (InsideoutJeans) on the blog today to share a card I created using LDRS Creative’s new release stamp set named, A View for All Seasons Stamps

When I saw this set, I wanted to focus on the leaves from the window box. The set has the components to create a cute little scene and that’s exactly what I did here.

To use the window box, I stamped this first and masked it using Masking paper. One note about this Masking Paper is that it is thicker than most and this works out really well because I am using Flesh hybrid ink to stamp out the main window. Then I added the shutters on the side. I thought the cat that is in the set facing forward was super cute, so I definitely had to add him.

This stamp set actually doesn’t come with any sentiments, which is fine but I really wanted to add something so I grabbed one of my favorite Fall sets from LDRS Creative, called Happy Fall. I stamped out the sentiment from there and added the pumpkin and leaves from the A View for All Seasons Stamps stamp set to accent the sentiment.

For my main scene, I used the largest die from Practically Square along with a piece of card stock from the Sweater Weather – 6×6 Paper paper pad.

Thanks for stopping by! Come back tomorrow for another look at the new release. Thanks!
