Hero Arts May MMH Release Blog Hop + Giveaway!

Hi crafty friends! Today, we are hopping along to introduce the May 2024 My Monthly Hero Kit from Hero Arts and this one is a bit more special as we’re celebrating Hero Art’s 50th Anniversary! There’s a ton of inspiration and the full blog lineup can be found on the Hero Arts blog. You should be coming from Charlene Madrid‘s blog and your next stop will be Kailash Naidoo. The full blog list will be updated below! This month’s collection focuses on peace, love and kindness! Here is a peek at the Classic Kit:

The Classic Kit includes:

  • Floral Cake Clear Stamp Set, 4″ x 6″
  • 11 Floral Cake Coordinating Dies
  • 6 Sheets Luxe White Watercolor Paper, 5.5″ x 8.5″
  • Contour Ink Pad (AF468)
  • Flat Water Flow Brush (PD105)
  • Watercolor Palette (HT227)
  • Ink Swatch Palette (a sheet that has 8 colors of watercolor paints in our Core Ink colors)

    Classic Special (50th Anniversary) Gifts:
  • Message Clear Stamp Set, 3” x 4”
  • 3 Coordinating Dies
  • Yay Fancy Die

and the Premium Kit (along with the Classic kit items) includes:

  • Balloon Background Cling Stamp, A2
  • Champagne Sequins (CH306)
  • Birthday Enamel Dots (CH332)

    Premium Special (50th Anniversary) Gifts:
  • Yay Clear Stamp & Coordinating Die
  • Congrats Fancy Die

I have two cards to share with you today featuring this month’s kit and add ons!

The first card focuses on the Premium Kit. I immediately fell in love with the Balloon Background Cling Stamp — it is so versatile. You can use it for birthdays, celebrations, new babies, and more! I picked out a few fun colors to smoosh ink with: Taffy, Lemon Drop, Blue Raspberry, Splash, Blue Hawaii, and Thistle reactive Inks. I used a piece of plastic I had to pick up the ink after I put it on a glass surface and sprayed a little bit of water. Using these on top of the Luxe White Watercolor paper, it created a really colorful background. I used the Congrats Fancy Die to cut out the sentiment from this inky background and removed the border. I matted it on Pitch Black Cardstock to really make the Congrats Fancy Die pop!

My second project features one of this month’s add ons dies, the Hooray Birthday Cover Plate. I pulled out a rainbow array of cardstock: Cherry, Papaya, Canary, Kiwi, Peacock, Amethyst, and Ultra Pink. I trimmed down the cardstock to half inch strips. I covered an A2 panel with double sided adhesive and covered the panel with strips diagonally. I used the Hooray Birthday Cover Plate and die cut it using Black Glitter cardstock. I added the die cut panel right over the rainbow striped panel so all those colors pop through. It’s so fun right?!

May My Monthly Hero Countdown

Hi friends — We’re kicking off the countdown to the Hero Arts May My Monthly Hero kit today and I’m sharing a card using the new kit, focusing on items from the Classic kit!

I wanted to use a lot of the items from this very special Classic Kit, which also kicks off the 50th Anniversary Celebration for Hero Arts! I created a quick background using a lot of different sentiments and then, of course, I needed a birthday staple, CAKE!

I did a bit of no-line watercoloring for my main image and then finished it off with a birthday sentiment. I matted all my pieces for a bit of contrast that really makes everything pop!

Head over to the Hero Arts blog for more inspiration using the May My Monthly Hero kit leading up to the release!  And then I’ll be back for the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero Kit blog hop with a couple more projects to share!

Hero Arts March MMH Release Blog Hop + Giveaway!

Hi crafty friends! Today, we are hopping along to introduce the March 2024 My Monthly Hero Kit from Hero Arts. There’s a ton of inspiration and the full blog lineup can be found on the Hero Arts blog. You should be coming from Rachel Kleinman‘s blog and your next stop will be Seeka. The full blog list will be updated below! This month’s collection focuses on peace, love and kindness! Here is a peek at the Classic Kit:

The Classic Kit includes:

  • Clear Stamp Set, 6” x 8”
  • Frame Cuts
  • Cover Plate Window Die
  • 2 Rub-On Transfer Sheets
  • 3 Ink Cubes (Cherry, Periwinkle & Deep Ocean)

and the Premium Kit (along with the Classic kit items) includes:

  • Clear Stamp Set, 4” x 6”
  • Frame Cuts
  • Translucent Pinks Hero Hues Enamel Dot

I have two cards to share with you today featuring this month’s kit and add ons!

The first card focuses on the Classic Kit. I’ll admit that I’m not a big fan of solid stamps because my preference is just to color but one that builds a scene in this sketchy kind of way along with silhouettes is something I can get behind. I used the 6″ x 8″ stamp set along with the Periwinkle, Deep Ocean, Cherry and INTENS-ified black ink pads to stamp this scene up. You can create any type of scene you’d like and interchange all the silhouette images. It’s so fun and easy! I also couldn’t resist using the Rub-On Transfer Sheets to add a little flair to the card. It reminds me of those old asian paintings with the scene and then the writing over it — exactly what this card looks like.

My second project features a one of this month’s add ons set, the Ramen Bundle and the Origami Paper Bold Prints. I love split card designs, it’s usually a great way to use up pattern paper or add some interest to a card. I stamped the Origami Paper Bold Prints on both white and Cherry Cardstock using the Cherry Core Ink. I used half of it on one side, half on another side. Then I stamped some of the images and sentiments from the Ramen Bundle using Cranberry Core Ink and placed them on my card panel.

Here’s a little video for this card above:

Hero Arts Spring Catalog Blog Hop

Happy Spring Catalog Day! Hero Arts will be giving away two $50 gift cards, drawn from the comments left along the hop. Comment on all the blogs for more chances to win! You have until Wednesday, February 21st at 11:59pm to enter. The winners will be announced on the Hero Arts blog.

Today, I’m sharing one of my favorites that I created using some of the Spring Catalog items. I die cut the Floral Wreath Fancy Die out of white cardstock because I wanted to use my copic markers to color in all the florals and leafy bits. Once I finished coloring, I die cut a piece of Cup Of Joe Cardstock using the same Floral Wreath Fancy Die and glued the colored die cut on top, just a little off set to look like a shadow.

For my background, I pulled out a piece of Sand Cardstock and then stamped it with the Rain Texture Bold Prints using Espresso Core Ink. I love this background stamp because it’s a very subtle pattern so your focus won’t be pulled away from your main focal point.

For my sentiment, I used the Best Wishes Letterpress & Foil Plate Set on the Cup of Joe Cardstock. Please note that the Best Wishes Letterpress & Foil Plate Set is out of stock until the end of February, but it definitely is a core sentiment set that is large enough to take focus but also be part of another focal point like this card.

The Classic Kit includes:

  • Clear Stamp Set, 6” x 8”
  • 17 Coordinating Frame Cuts
  • 4 Tag Fancy Dies
  • Unicorn Ink Cube
  • 6 Sheets White Cardstock, 5.5″ x 8.5″
  • 3 yards of ribbon/twine

and the Premium Kit (along with the Classic kit items) includes:

  • Clear Stamp Set, 3” x 4”
  • Imagine Peace Fancy Dies
  • Sun Stencil, 6″ x 6″
  • Ephemera Pack, 48 Pieces
  • White Embossing Powder, 0.5 oz.

I have two cards to share with you today featuring this month’s kit and add ons!

The first card focuses on the Classic Kit. I love floral stamp sets and this one was such a fun one. I love how it looks and I thought it would be such a pretty background if I stamped it around the center of the card. I stamped it the image with Green Apple on Kiwi cardstock. This turned out really pretty!

My second project features a one of this month’s add ons set, the Cosmos & Lavender bundle. I just love the florals and decided to create a diagonal border of the floral clusters. I stamped and colored them in copic markers.

February My Monthly Hero Countdown

Hi friends — We’re kicking off the countdown to the Hero Arts February My Monthly Hero kit today and I’m sharing a card using the new kit, focusing on items from the Premium kit!

I wanted to use all the items included in the premium kit but I had to restrain myself a bit for this simple but really powerful card. I love the embossed message in the middle of this really pretty stenciled background. I love how it brings your focus right to it!

I used a pair of the same die cuts to add a bit more interest to the card and I kinda love it!

Head over to the Hero Arts blog for more inspiration using the February My Monthly Hero kit leading up to the release!  And then I’ll be back for the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero Kit blog hop with a couple more projects to share!

Hero Arts MMH Release Blog Hop + Giveaway!

Hi crafty friends! Today, we are hopping along to introduce the January 2024 My Monthly Hero Kit from Hero Arts. There’s a ton of inspiration and the full blog lineup can be found on the Hero Arts blog. You should be coming from Channin‘s blog and your next stop will be Natasha. The full blog list will be updated below! This month’s collection focuses on letters and watercolor pencils! Here is a peek at the Classic Kit:

The Classic Kit includes:

  • 5 Floral Color Layering Stencils
  • Heart Fancy Window Die
  • Love You Fancy Word Dies
  • Love Messages Clear Stamp Set, 4″ x 6″
  • 6 Sheets of Camel Watercolor Paper, 5″ x 7″
  • 3 Core Ink Cubes – Moss, Azalea, Summer Sky

and the Premium Kit (along with the Classic kit items) includes:

  • 10 Flower & Leaf Fancy Dies
  • Gold Leaf Flakes
  • Sparkle Clear Lacquer Pen
  • Pink Gold Metallic Spray

I have two cards to share with you today featuring this month’s kit and add ons!

The first card focuses on the Classic Kit and one item from the Premium Kit. I created the base of my card using the 5 Floral Color Layering Stencils using the following Hero Arts Reactive Ink colors: Thistle, Grape Slush, Berry Smoothie, Pool Party, and Blue Hawaii. This turned out really pretty!

Then I decided to use the Love You Fancy Word die. Originally, I wanted to do an eclipse card but I thought the background was a bit busy and I wanted the words to really stand out. I die cut a couple of the words, stacked them and used Pitch Black cardstock right on top. I also stamped out a supporting sentiment from the Love Messages Stamp set. To finish off the card, I used the Sparkle Clear Lacquer Pen right over the Love You Fancy Word Die to add a bit of sparkle.

My second project features a one of this month’s add ons set, I Love U Stamp & Cut XL along with the Ode to Andy Warhol Script Bold Prints background stamp. I saw the font for the I Love U Stamp & Cut XL set and immediately thought about subway art — bold handwriting over delicate font. I first stamped the Ode to Andy Warhol Script Bold Prints in Cotton Candy core ink, and then I used the I Love U Stamp & Cut XL set to stamp over the background on the top and bottom, leaving room for the coordinating dies in the middle of the card.

If you’re more visual, here is the corresponding reel:

Hero Arts MMH Release Blog Hop + Giveaway!

Hi crafty friends! Today, we are hopping along to introduce the December 2023 My Monthly Hero Kit from Hero Arts. There’s a ton of inspiration and the full blog lineup is at the Hero Arts blog. You should be coming from Seeka‘s blog and your next stop will be Jennifer. The full blog list will be updated below! This month’s collection focuses on letters and watercolor pencils! Here is a peek at the Classic Kit:

The Classic Kit includes:

  • XL Alphabet Clear Stamp Set 8 x 10
  • 10 Watercolor Pencils
  • 10 Sheets Watercolor Paper, 8.5″ x 11″
  • Alphabet Cover Plate Die
  • Water Flow Brush

and the Premium Kit (along with the Classic kit items) includes:

  • MHP1223C Numbers Clear Stamp Set 4×6
  • Fine Line Applicator
  • Sea Salt Reinker
  • Gold Glimmer Metallic Ink

I have three cards to share with you today featuring this month’s kit!

The first card focuses on the Classic Kit. I used all the items from the kit to create this card. I used the Watercolor Pencils with the Water Flow Brush to create a blue/purple ombre fading to white. I used the Alphabet Cover Plate Die to cut out black letters AND dry emboss onto my background (which is so hard to see in photos but it adds a subtle texture). I stamped the balloons from the XL Alphabet Clear Stamp and fussy cut them out add to the sides of the sentiment. This kit allows you to create any sentiment you want!

My second project actually features a planner spread using some of this month’s add ons, Weekly Planner and Months. I also pulled the Winter Town Cheer stamp set to decorate. The add ons create a quick planner spread and there are a bunch of elements to stamp out an easy spread.

If you wanted a visual of how I put this together, here’s the little video that corresponds:

My third card is a super simple one using the Classic Kit and an add on item, Message Basics. I used the Watercolor Pencils to create a rainbow background with the Water Flow Brush. I actually used the Alphabet Cover Plate Die for my first card and took the background to place right on top of the watercolor panel. To finish off the card, I used the Message Basics stamp set for a simple Happy Birthday sentiment.

Here’s a quick video sharing how I put it together:

December My Monthly Hero Countdown

Hi friends — We’re kicking off the countdown to the Hero Arts December My Monthly Hero kit today and I’m sharing a card using the new kit!

I used every item from this super versatile classic kit and I’m especially loving the watercolor pencils. The stamp set in the kit can be used in so many ways as well as creating your own custom sentiment with the die cover plate that comes in the kit.

All my supplies for creating this card will be listed down below (with multiple sources when available) for your curiosity and convenience. Affiliate links used when possible.

Endless possibilities!

Head over to the Hero Arts blog for more inspiration using the December My Monthly Hero kit leading up to the release!  And then I’ll be back for the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero Kit blog hop with a couple more projects to share!

Scene Card | Hero Arts

One of my favorite kind of cards to make! Scene Cards! They are so fun because you can interpret scene cards in so many different ways and use stamps that are standalone in a new way. It’s great for really stretching your stamps and giving your own view on them! That’s what I did here:
