Hi friends! There have been so many amazing projects already shared in the past two days of the blog hop and there’s so much inspiration today as well! Be sure to check it all out and today’s lineup! For today, I’m sharing this pretty Valentine’s or Love card that I put together using some of the new items from Pretty Pink Posh’s January release.
With a standalone die set, I tend to like to die cut from white cardstock and then color instead of using scraps. Frankly, I probably should use scraps to use them up but I just love the added look of dimension by coloring using markers. A trick I use is to use double sided tape prior to die cutting so everything I cut will basically be a sticker, making it really easy to put the pieces together quickly.
Once all my die pieces are colored up, I’ll go ahead and put them together on a piece of pink cardstock to match the vibe of the card. I really love the Valentine’s Words stencil and I inked it up with black ink on white cardstock, but I thought it was a little too plain so I inked up the corners just to add a little bit of pink to it.

I have a ton of paper scraps so anytime I can use some up, I do it. This was a super easy way to do it and it was pretty easy to put together after you figure out how to place the pieces … so it’s kind of like a puzzle!

Using the eclipse card technique for a sentiment is always super fun but have you created an eclipse background … you’re simply popping up die cuts to create a more impactful card. I was able to use pattern paper, die cuts, and a heat embossed sentiment for a fairly simple card!

Doodles — they are always fun because it’s not about perfection, it’s just for fun. This stamp set is a great example of that and it also comes with the solids so you can easily color it up. Stamping doesn’t have to be perfect and honestly, it’s better that it’s not — it’s whimsical and fun! Don’t you think?

We all know crafty supplies are easy to add up and put a dent in your wallet, so before making any purchase, I always makes sure that I can use it for more than one occasion. A lot of people color leaving white space for a highlight, which always levels up an image. I struggle leaving white because it’s a bit hard to fade out with copic markers, however, ink blending to white is a whole lot easier and I did that here. It allows the color to stick to the edges but you go in with a light hand with a fade to white.

Happy St. Patty’s Day! This card is perfect to celebrate but also just generally a fun card to give away! I combine a few techniques in this card… sometimes a hot foiled background can be the star, but it’s easy to use it as a background if you have the right items to steal the focus.

I know not everyone is on the hot foil train but I love how it looks so much! I love the shine that comes with it and it pairs so well with the soft look of colored die cuts.
Remember the steps of hot foiling: 1. Hot Foil plate facing up 2. Pretty side of foil down 3. Add cardstock and machine plate 4. Run it through your die cut machine 5. Reveal!

I’ll admit that although I’m not a clean and simple cardmaker, I’m also not a layered, dimensional one either. But sometimes, you definitely need to pull a ton of layers to create an amazing card. This is definitely one of them and it also reminds you that you don’t always have to use tags just for presents — you can use them on cards too!

Sometimes when you have a really pretty, layered die, you can definitely keep it simple to pull together a quick card. Honey Bee Stamps has a ton of items in their “Lovely Layers” die cut line and this one is a great one for a mass production of Christmas cards, don’t you think?
