Ukraine Fundraiser | Ellen Huston x Sketchmarker

Today’s card is part of an instagram hop for the Color for Ukraine Fundraiser – a charity event in support of Ukrainians! The war continues and it is important that we continue to help! All profits from the sale of all Sketchmarker products on both Ellen Hutson LLC and Sketchmarker between August 5-7, 2022, will go to support the people of the Ukraine.

There will be a FREE digital coloring book (designed by Ukrainian artists Nika and Vera) with all purchases of Sketchmarker product orders over $25 OR purchase the Coloring Book separately. One of the images is featured in my card below.

Also, if you decide to visit the instagram hop – we have a GIVEAWAY – a Sketchmarker Brush Pro Marker Set of 96 markers which costs over $500! Every valid comment on IG and TikTok posts is an entry in this RANDOM selection giveaway. We are grateful for your support of our artists – leave a nice comment supporting our artists and share this post to spread the word about our charity event!

The card I’m sharing over on my instagram for this hop features the large sunflower cluster for a 5×7 card. I thought this was a gorgeous image and wanted to also feature the Sketchmarkers. Admittedly, I didn’t have any of these markers prior to the hop but from using them, I really like them and think they are comparable to copic markers. They are alcohol markers with a chisel and brush tip. The brush tip was nice and worked really well for flicking and coloring.

For this particular card, my coloring is quite simple as I wanted to showcase the fact that you don’t need a ton of markers to color up an image. In this card, I used a total of 5 markers along with a white pen. For the sunflowers, I just flicked the one color on the top and bottom of the petals. For the middle, I dotted two colors to create some dimension.

Because I’m using white space to create that dimension on the flowers, I wanted to create a dark background and just inked up the entire black using a black marker and then dotted on stars with a white pen. It’s a cool effect to create when you really want something to pop!

Remember to stop by instagram or tiktok for a chance to win the Sketchmarker Brush set! And heres a quick video of how I colored this and put it together.

All my supplies for creating this card will be listed down below (with multiple sources when available) for your curiosity and convenience. Affiliate links used when possible.
