When I first saw this set and all the little pieces, I was intimidated. My best advice is just to jump in and die cut it all. I know dies make it easy because you can die cut out colored cardstock but I like die cutting with white cardstock and coloring it up!

The holiday season is coming to an end but that doesn’t mean you still can’t use your holiday sets… If you change up the colors you use, you can stretch your stamps for a new type of card. I’ve used this set in traditional red and green colors but now I’m using blues and it has a completely different look!
If you’ve ever tried to hot foil, you know it’s a ton of trial and error. Along with that, it comes with some mistakes — but you definitely can still use it and you most likely can’t tell!

I’m still pretty new to watercolors but play around with them has been interesting — trying to figure out how much water to use, how heavy handed I should be, how long I need to wait for it to dry… but I wanted to try adding salt to watercolors to see the aftereffect and I think it looks so cool, especially for a sky! You just add it on when it’s just still a bit wet and wait for it to dry. Waiting is the hardest part!

When companies make it easy to make fun shaker cards, it makes you want to make those shakers! This is the perfect example for a fun shaker because the coordinating die cuts out the interior of the wreath.

Sometimes when you have a really pretty, layered die, you can definitely keep it simple to pull together a quick card. Honey Bee Stamps has a ton of items in their “Lovely Layers” die cut line and this one is a great one for a mass production of Christmas cards, don’t you think?

I kinda love stamp sets that allow you to create your own unique designs, which basically means that you have endless possibilities. Since that doesn’t need much explaining, I’m sharing a few tips along the way.
I don’t use pigment ink often because I prefer dye ink for their quick drying properties but in Honey Bee Stamps’ new release — they have both gold and silver pigment ink! It’s perfect for the holiday cards that I’ll be making and I tested it out with this Holly Jolly background stamp — it works SO well! I was a bit lazy though so I did add clear embossing ink right on top to heat emboss so I could trap the color.
