Hi there! Thanks for joining us during release week! There are some really unique and fun things being released this month.

One of the first things that caught my attention right away was the Tree Line stamp set. It’s a small set but so versatile. At first you think, what can I really do with this, but there’s SO many things you could use it for: to create a background or to using it as a main image.

For today’s card, I used it as a main image. I stamped this out using Raven Hybrid Ink and color it up quickly using shades of green. I wanted to use this to create a gorgeous sky behind the Tree Line.

Using distress inks, I ended up creating a Northern Lights-esque background and then added “stars” by using white splatter. It was gorgeous! I never have had the chance to see the Northern Lights but it’s definitely a bucket list item.

I definitely wanted to add a sentiment to this card and decided to make it really simple and use the “Congratulations” sentiment from Artic Snowfall. I didn’t want the sentiment to be too harsh so I decided against using Raven again and went with Olive Branch, which went along the green from the sky.

I’m really happy how simply gorgeous this card ended up being. I can’t wait to use this stamp for a gorgeous background as well. I hope you enjoyed this card and the idea. I’ll see you back here tomorrow for another card. Have a great day!

2 Die Cut Backgrounds | LDRS Creative

Hi there everyone! It’s Jeannie and I’m back to share not just one, but two cards!
When I first saw the Autumn Breeze die in the August release, I really couldn’t believe how gorgeous it was. Normally, I am really picky about background dies because sometimes they take away from your main image. Part of this particular die will cut and part of it embosses, creating really pretty details in the leaves.
I decided to use this die to cut out of kraft cardstock, thinking that it just fits perfectly for Fall and for some reason, I just tend to use this cardstock color more during the Fall.
I really wanted to color using colored pencil on kraft so I decided to choose three green shades to create dimension on the leaves. I used the darkest green in the embossed crevices and the border. Then I used the lightest green in the center of the leaves and then the mid-shade to blend the dark and light out. Doesn’t it look amazing? For the branches, I also used three shades of brown to quickly color it in.
For the center of this die background, I used the oval die cut that comes in this die set. I decided to use one of the sentiments fromMagic Fall Sentiments for the center.
Secondly, I die cut the same Autumn Breeze die on brown cardstock and used a mix of yellow, orange and red colored pencils for the leaves instead. For the center, I decided to use an image from the Happy Fall stamp set to stamp in white and also do some no-line coloring. The little mouse is so adorable and fits right in with this die cut background.
I really love how these cards turned out and I have a video showing my process:

Have a great day! See you next time!

Hi there! This is the last day of the blog hop and I’m sharing one of my favorite cards from the release. I used Ant’s Pants and the Sun & Clouds die to put together this scene in the pop up box card. It also features one of my childhood fascinations …. an ANT FARM!

Today I’m using the stamp set called Shore Lucky, along with some of the new release dies. But first, I picked out a piece of paper from the You Are My Sunshine paper pack that mimicked the ocean with the blue lines and trimmed it down to an A2 card panel. I thought it needed a little more color, so I pulled out the Little Boy Blue ink and inked up the edges.

JEANNIE-SHORE LUCKY1-JULY5

I stamped out the images from Shore Lucky using Raven hybrid ink and colored them in using alcohol ink. I like how these images are smaller so I can use a lot of them in a smaller space. I trimmed down a piece of paper to use as the spotlight panel so the pattern paper can frame the main card space. I die cut paper using the Surfing Wave die and used the same Little Boy Blue color to ink up the die cuts, except the top of the wave, which I left white.

I also took a piece of Kraft cardstock and die cut it using the Shady Beach die. Using Coffee Bean ink, I inked up the edges of this die cut to add a little dimension. I stamped the sentiment from the Shore Lucky set, using the same Coffee Bean ink.

JEANNIE-SHORE LUCKY2-JULY5

I think this card turned out great and this little set really packs a punch and allows you to create a super cute beachy stamp set.

Today, I’m sharing a card I put together using the A New Beginning stamp set. I really like the floral images and wanted to use them for this card.

First, for the background, using Flesh and Pink Tutu Hybrid Ink, I inked up an A2 card panel. I kept Flesh in the middle and Pink Tutu on the edges. Most of this will be covered up but, I still wanted to blend it nicely between the two colors. Using the Sunburst die, I die cut a piece of white paper. This particular die cuts a little smaller than an A2 panel, so the Pink Tutu ink on the edges will create a nice frame for the card. I love how the two colors are subtle but look really pretty behind this die cut panel.

Second, I stamped out the image of the girl and the florals using Raven Hybrid Ink. I wanted to keep a orange and pink color theme, so I used shades of those two colors to color in these images. Once I was done, I fussy cut the images and placed them in the center of this card.

It’s a super simple card, but I think it turned out to be really pretty. Whenever, I decide to give away this card, I can add the appropriate sentiment along the bottom half of the card. I really like leaving cards ready to go minus a sentiment so it can fit any occasion.

Hope you enjoyed my first card for this release. Come back tomorrow for more card inspiration.
